K-pop stars BTS to serve mandatory military service

As K-pop supergroup BTS continues to break records and soar higher in the music industry, five of its members – Jungkook, Jimin, RM, J-Hope and V – are setting their sights on the 2025 Grammy Awards. 

Despite six of the seven members currently fulfilling their mandatory military service, their passion for music hasn’t waned. 

Jungkook leads the charge with his album “Golden,” vying for two of the biggest Grammy categories: Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album.

Additionally, his chart-topping singles “Standing Next To You” and “3D” are up for several prestigious honors, with “Standing Next To You” aiming for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Music Video, while “3D” contends for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

BTS’s leader, RM, is also in the mix with his album “Right Place, Wrong Person,” which has been submitted for Album of the Year and Best Rap Album. His track “LOST!” is targeting both Record of the Year and Best Melodic Rap Performance, along with a nod for Best Music Video.

Jimin continues to showcase his unique vocal prowess with “Muse,” which is competing for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album. His track “Who” is also in the running for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.

Although he is also currently serving in the military, J-Hope has submitted his solo work for the 2025 Grammys as well. His album “Hope on the Street Vol. 1” has been submitted for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album.

Meanwhile, his track “NEURON” is competing for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

Meanwhile, V offers his signature style with “FRI(END)S,” hoping to snag Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.

As the Grammy nominations approach, BTS fans eagerly anticipate how these solo projects will fare, marking yet another chapter in the group’s storied journey toward global musical dominance.
